Workshop Announcement
Peer Workshop on Project Management
Dates: November 17, 2005
Location: University of
Portland (Buckley Center, Room
163), Portland, Oregon
Moderators: Bryon Fessler (UP) and Kara
McFall (OHSU)
Description: This peer workshop will enable participants to discuss key
issues of project management in an academic environment. Come prepared
to share your successes, challenges, and stories from the front line in an
open, collaborative discourse. Examples of topics that we will explore
include using project charters, dealing with scope/change management, and measuring
return on investment. Participants are encouraged to share lessons learned
and best practices throughout the workshop. The workshop is aimed at project
management practitioners attempting to bring small or large projects to completion
on time, on scope, and on budget. You do not have to have "project
management" in your title to attend this workshop. The final half
hour of the workshop will be dedicated to discussing the establishment of a "community
of practice" for project management practitioners within NWACC.
Attendees
are encouraged to email copies of templates, charters, ROI formulas,
best practices, and other related documents to Bryon
Fessler (fessler@up.edu) prior to
November 11th so that CDs can be made for all attendees.
