Workshop Announcement

Network Security Workshop 2009

A three-day workshop on network security techniques and strategies, including a review and discussion of the results of Accudata's network vulnerability tests, will be held in Portland, Oregon (for NWACC member institutions only).

Registration is now closed and the workshop is full.

Date: November 17-19, 2009
Location: George Fox University Portland Center, Room PDS 281 (meals and breaks will be served in Room 290)

Workshop size and attendance: Attendance is limited to 35 participants. A space is reserved for one participant from each NWACC member institution. Additional spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. If you would like to be added to the waiting list, email office@nwacc.org.

Location, Directions, and Transportation: The workshop will be held at George Fox University Portland Center, located at 12753 SW 68th Ave, Portland, OR. Click here for driving directions from the hotel (Lake Oswego Fairfield Inn & Suites). Please arrange for your own ground transportation to and from the Portland airport.

Shuttle service is available for participants staying at the hotel. The shuttle schedule is:

Tues, Nov 17: Shuttle departs hotel at 7:45 a.m.
Shuttle departs GFPC at 5:15 p.m.

Wed, Nov 18: Shuttle departs hotel at 7:45 a.m.
Shuttle departs GFPC at 5:15 p.m.

Thur, Nov 19: Shuttle departs hotel at 7:45 a.m.
Note - There will not be return service to the hotel on Thursday, Nov. 19. Please arrange for your ground transportation to the Portland airport from the workshop site.

Travel Reimbursements: Participants are responsible for making their own travel arrangements. NWACC will reimburse travel expenses for all attendees. Reimbursement requests should be submitted within 14 days of the event and require original receipts.

Lodging:
If you requested hotel accommodations at registration, your reservation has been made for you at the Lake Oswego Fairfield Inn & Suites and you will receive your confirmation number via email. Hotel costs will be paid directly by NWACC for up to three nights (arriving on Nov. 16 and departing on Nov. 19). If you have questions about your registration or need to make a change, contact Molly at office@nwacc.org; please do not contact the hotel directly. Attendees will need to present a credit card at check-in to cover incidental costs.

Food Service: Continental breakfast, snacks, and lunch will be provided. Dietary preferences or restrictions may be noted on the web registration form.
