Overview


The NorthWest Academic Computing Consortium is pleased to announce its annual conference: Securing IT’s Road to the Future, to be held June 23-24, 2005, at the Fifth Avenue Suites Hotel in downtown Portland, Oregon. This two day event brings together CIOs, technology staff, and others from the Northwest and elsewhere to discuss current issues and initiatives related to technology in research and instruction. Among the topics that will be discussed at this year's conference are: identity management, balancing security and privacy in new technologies, cultivating the next generation of IT leadership, and dealing with the future of online and distance education.

Featured speakers include: Darcy Hardy, Director of the University of Texas TeleCampus, James Hilton, Associate Provost for Academic, Information, & Instructional Technology Affairs of the University of Michigan, Jim Davis, Associate Vice Chancellor of Information Technology at UCLA, Jacqueline Craig, Director of Policy, Information Resources and Communications, University of California Office of the President, Cynthia Golden, Vice President of EDUCAUSE, Mary Ann Davidson, Vice President at Oracle, and Scott Charney, Vice President of Trustworthy Computing for Microsoft.

In order to keep the conference as interactive as possible, attendance is limited to 120 individuals.
