Description
This peer workshop will discuss practical solutions for identity management, including rationale and business case for systematic identity management and authorization services, scalable architecture, best practice directory schemas and identifiers, directory-enabling applications, inevitable policy and territory issues, privacy & security considerations. The aim is for each institution to be prepared to assess institutional needs for, design, and "sell" an identity management infrastructure appropriate to the institution. Possible advanced topics include federations, Shibboleth, groups, provisioning.

A more detailed outline of topics will be available to registrants, and registrants will determine the final agenda prior to the workshop by assigning weights to topics in this outline.

Workshop size: One staff member per NWACC institution may register on a first-come first-served basis. Additional seats may be available after the registration deadline via a waiting list.

Registration: Register online at http://administration.reed.edu/nwacc/retreat/. Deadline to register is Monday, January 24, at 5 pm.

Food Service: Continental breakfast, snacks, and lunch will be provided. Dietary preferences may be requested on the web registration form.

Travel Reimbursements: Workshop attendees are responsible for their own travel and lodging costs. Attendees traveling to workshops from 75 to 200 miles away (one way) are eligible for a travel reimbursement of up to $100. Those attendees traveling from more than 200 miles away are eligible for reimbursement of 50% of travel costs, to a maximum of $500. Reimbursement requests need to be submitted within 14 days of the event and require original receipts.
